Diesel Gas Conversions

Up until a few years ago, Diesel Gas Conversions were not available. They truly are a great piece of technology as they improve economy, improve power and increase the resale value of your vehicle. Unlike a petrol and gas vehicle, Diesel and Gas vehicles use both fuels at the same time. Usually about 70% diesel and 30% gas is injected at the same time. This means that more of the diesel is burnt, and the gas gives the car a longer range too.
What it also means is that with a 70 liter diesel tank you may only need a 30 liter gas tank, which makes it good in terms of clearance and weight. You can buy straight gas vehicles, but there are very few four wheel drives that have this as they don’t have a very good range. My Hilux has a 60 liter petrol tank, and 60 liter gas tank. It gets a maximum range of about 750 kilometers, but in comparison to 120 liters of diesel and gas combined you would get around the 1200 kilometers mark.
If you are getting a Diesel and Gas Conversion, you want to make sure that it is done well. Some inject the gas before the turbo, meaning it passes through a red hot turbo and you risk having an explosion. You want to find someone that can tune the car up very well too. With Diesel and Gas, you can run the vehicle on Diesel only as well, if you run out of gas (like when you go into remote locations!). Many people opt to get their cars converted to Diesel Gas rather than turboing them when looking for a power increase, as the increase is similar (sometimes even more with Diesel Gas) and the economy improves.
